Culture of remembranceEN. Workshop in the Diversity Day 2025 urban space

Remembering and forgetting - collectively and individually: What do we want to remember? What is important to us as a society - what is important to me personally? How is public memory shaped by the monuments in the urban space?
The workshop poses questions on which the participants have to position themselves: as an introduction through various general impulses - on the way in small groups to different memorials in the urban space - in the final presentation and discussion in plenary.
With the discussion about the equestrian statue of Wilhelm II, the stumbling blocks in the city, the EL-DE House, the public commemoration of Edith Stein and the memory of the NSU attack in Probsteigasse, the workshop will focus on very different facets of the culture of remembrance.

Note: Please bring your own smartphones for navigation and further information on the way of the small groups through the immediate urban space.

Please note that it is currently not possible for groups to stay in the exhibition areas beyond the guided tour.

The number of participants is limited. Tickets are available at the information desk from 30 minutes before the start of the tour.
