EXPATS in Leipzig - English Stand Up Comedy Showcase

In the organizer's words:

Still trying to figure out Leipzig? Then join these comics sharing hilarious stories of how (not) to integrate in Germany!

EXPATs in Leipzig, the Standup Comedy show where stories from different cultures and parts of the world meet!

Are you an expat in Leipzig? Still trying to make sense of the place? Don't worry, it doesn't and neither can we make sense of it! So, come down and join a bunch of fellow failed integration experiments who will share their hilarious stories of (not) adapting to life in Germany.

This is a fun new English Comedy Show about the different experiences of people from abroad. This is a show with experienced comics presenting their very best material.

We are a friendly show in English and it's a great place to meet new people from all around the world! We do a pre-show mixer, where you can chat, drink and meet people.

We are so friendly, we even allow Germans in.

Bring your friends to enjoy a great evening of comedy in Leipzig. We also do an after-show hangout with drinks and music!

We open doors at 6.30pm. Show starts at 7.30pm.

It's free seating. The later you arrive, the better the chance you'll have a front row seat. ;)

Here is your headliner for the evening.

Ludwig Benecke (SUI/DE)
Instagram: @ludwigcomedy

Ludwig Benecke, the relentlessly funny and charming "nice guy" of stand-up comedy!
For the past three years, he has been tirelessly showcasing his wit and humor to audiences all over Europe and the United States. As a Swiss-German nice guy navigating the unpredictable world of comedy, Ludwig hilariously recounts his journey from a life as an economic engineer to pursuing a creative career.
His material covers everything from dating miseries and his upbringing to sharp observations about his former corporate job, offering a unique and relatable perspective on life's challenges. He is now based in Berlin and has been described by various people as "funny."

Host: Tim Whelan (UK/DE)

As the winner of the 2020 Prix Pantheon and through his appearances on shows like NightWash and the Quatsch Comedy Club, Tim Whelan has long since become more than just an insider tip on the German comedy scene.

Raised near Liverpool, Tim now lives in Leipzig, where he works as a stand-up comedian and opera chorister. He also tours internationally with his program, performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Utrecht Comedy Festival, as well as in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Switzerland, and Lebanon.

Feature Act: Eman Khallouf (LBN)

Since 2017, Eman Khallouf has been lighting up stages with her sharp, dark, and brilliantly funny take on life as a Middle Eastern woman. Performing in both English and Arabic, she draws from her unique background-born in the UAE, raised in Jordan, with a Palestinian father and Turkish mother. Now she's taken her comedy to Germany to 'make it'-because what's funnier than chasing a dream in a country known for its sense of humor? When asked where she's from, she famously quips, 'How much time do you have?'-and the audience knows they're in for a wild, hilarious ride!
