The internationally acclaimed artist Ezhel is releasing his second solo album "Derdo" in November 2024.
The fact that Ezhel is deeply rooted in Berlin is shown not only by his features with Gentleman, Luciano, Kelvyn Colt, Patrice, Haftbefehl, Capo and Veysel, but also by the ever-increasing influence of Berlin in his lyrics. The title "Derdo" means "the man with the blues" and tells of memories from his homeland, new influences in Berlin and his recurring homesickness. The lead single "Kedi", in which he asks himself what home means to him and where his place is in the world, also revolves around this theme. He describes life between two cultures, the search for belonging. At the same time, the Ankara-born artist stands like no other for connecting cultures, which he performs together with UK rapper Aitch and the track "Bridges", which is also included on the album.
The New York Times describes Ezhel as one of "the 15 most important contemporary pop artists". If you ask the celebrated Turkish singer, rapper, songwriter, storyteller and artist himself how he would describe himself, these words naturally don't come up, instead he explains: "Rap and hip-hop is not art for many people, there are many who define the term differently. But that's exactly what I am, a music artist. I've found my voice and I use it."
With the release of the album DERDO, Ezhel is also embarking on a major European tour, starting in Germany.
