"Curatorial responsibility as practice" (DE/EN)

The discussion with Joanna Warsza and Ronald Kolb will focus on questions of curatorial responsibility, care and scope for action in times of ongoing social crises. The curators will talk about their respective approaches between local engagement and transnational practice. Joanna Warsza will give insights into her curatorial strategy, which deals with planetary public sphere, decoloniality and memory culture in urban space, while Ronald Kolb will present projects that combine artistic practice, ecological issues and community knowledge in rural contexts.
The event will be held in German, Joanna Warsza will speak in English. Afterwards we will open the space for exchange and questions.

Joanna Warsza is the new city curator in Hamburg, she works internationally and is known for her work at the intersection of art, politics and space. Her program in Hamburg runs under the two titles Five Years - Five Elements, currently From The Cosmos To The Commons, and Counter Monuments - Performing the Public Collection of Hamburg.
Ronald Kolb is Artistic Director of the Arthur Boskamp Foundation's M.1 and researches curatorial publics at the Zurich University of the Arts. In his work, he combines the conceptualization of exhibitions and teaching in an academic context with situated knowledge.
