Fables and dream worlds

From 02.05. - 30.05. the artist group Kaleidoskop23 shows four different positions on the theme "Fairy Tales and Dream Worlds" in the form of graphics, painting, illustration and mixed media in the meander building of the GIZ in Bonn

Onceupona time... we remember a land full of mythical creatures, fairies and dream castles. The exhibition of the artist group Kaleidoskop23 shows four different positions on the subject of "fairy tales and dream worlds". Let yourself be fascinated.

Maja Franke takes you on an imaginative and experimental journey through colors, dreams and the dialogue with the human or animal form. She is fascinated by playing with the material, printing techniques, contrasts and fantasy.

In Franziska Lehne's drawings, the viewer is confronted with animals, fairytale-like objects and buildings that are highly symbolic. For example, the golden stags on the Drachenburg castle represent peace and light.

For Lilly M. Blau, fairy tales convey a sense of security and confidence in dark times. The color gold stands for light, brilliance, positivity and victory. In fairy tales, good usually triumphs over evil and there is a happy ending.

Kristina Salamon-Afif approaches the theme of "fairy tales" in a completely contrary way. She exhibits abstract landscapes that create a mysterious, enchanted atmosphere through blue-green color dominance and intertwined brushstrokes, which involuntarily arise when immersing oneself in a fairy tale.
