Fabian Müller piano
Fabian Müller: Bagatelles (world premieres)
Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Sonatas No. 8 "Pathétique", No. 12, No. 10 & No. 28
The essence of Beethoven as an ultra-composer - rebellious, effervescent, disturbingly emotional - that is the "Pathéthique", which Fabian Müller immediately follows with one of the calmest sonatas, the twelfth. Still waters and roaring seas - the cosmos of the 32 piano sonatas unites both. The pianist traverses this in his cycle at the Beethovenfest. He says of the tenth sonata that it is one of the most humorous: "In the sonata, Beethoven makes fun of people who have to make a name for themselves with a powerful march - a mockery of everything ultra-heroic." No. 28, which concludes the concerto, stands at the gateway to the enigmatic and dreamy late work.
