Fahnenflucht, Tetzlaff, Wasted Zippo

Uncompromising lyrics, driving drums and angry vocals - the band from the Lower Rhine has been a staple of German punk rock for years. FAHNENFLUCHT stand for a dynamic and varied sound that likes to break out into hardcore and relies on catchy melodies. On September 13, 2024, the band released their seventh studio album, which has been known for almost 25 years for its sharp-witted lyrics, energetic songs and gripping live shows, all of which have always been paired with their tireless commitment to political and social issues.

Since the summer of 2022, TETZLAFF has been a Braunschweig-based quartet that enriches punk rock with indie rock and a little pop without losing any of its toughness. They are one of those bands that don't so much party or sing about getting drunk as sing and shout their view of the world into the microphone, creating varied and intelligent music that gives listeners little time to take a breather.

WASTED ZIPPO actually sounds like a creative German punk trio. It is all the more remarkable that Zippo is running his project completely on his own and delivering very good snotty punk. The DIY punk from Hanover puts a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this project. Last year's "without equipment through the republic" tour was legendary, at least according to some bar pirates in the country's AJZs.
