Third Choice

The band Dritte Wahl, which has stood for energetic punk and profound lyrics for over 35 years, inspires with their unique mix of catchy melodies, political criticism and stories from life. In their luggage they have their twelfth album "Urlaub in der Bredouille", which was released in 2023. With this work, the band shows once again that they have lost none of their bite and musical ingenuity. Themes such as social injustice, personal crises and resistance run through the record, while always conveying a certain lightness and hope. The constant dance between resignation and residual hope has always been part of Dritte Wahl's DNA, as has the credible confrontation with political imbalances. Founded in 1988, the band played their first concerts in the former GDR. After reunification, Dritte Wahl achieved an organic rise to become one of the most successful German-language punk rock ensembles - but the band has never lost its close connection to the subculture.

Slime

Those who already have something like legendary status during their lifetime are usually quickly caught napping on their laurels. Nobody would have held it against the reunited German punk institution Slime if the Hamburg band had thrown in the towel for a second time after singer Dirk "Diggen" Jora split in 2020. However, Slime are only ever backward-looking when it comes to relying on their own strengths and reflecting on the band's subcultural ideals and mission statement. The energy, anger and attitude remain unbroken four decades later. So it was hardly surprising that the remaining four opened the chapter "Slime Zwei" in their band biography in 2022 with the new singer Tex Brasket and the new album "Slime Zwei". Slime haven't sounded this fresh, aggressive, focused and at the same time standing firmly on both feet for a long time.

Adam Angst

Adam Angst prove that social criticism or an anti-fascist stance does not have to be synonymous with clumsy slogans. It can be done differently, and it can be done better: with an unmistakable and precise choice of words that is teeming with small details. Since their formation in 2014, Adam Angst have stood for powerful punk rock with depth. For their third album "Twist", they have once again written songs that fit so mercilessly perfectly into the social, German now that it really hurts. Adam Angst have always distinguished themselves from the conventional German punk rock band. No constant, embarrassing social media flak, not always this cozy "we're the good guys here and everyone else just doesn't get it" attitude in the lyrics. Adam Angst don't want to make it easy for anyone on "Twist", and that's exactly where their strength lies, because the album is at the same time highly entertaining and yet always more than "just" entertainment.

The Iron Roses

The Iron Roses are a passionate and unique group of people who make music that they hope will change the world. Driven by the injustices of our time, their songs are the kind of protest anthems that only a group of experienced music creators can make. It takes great talent to write and sing songs that sound angry while the music lifts your spirits. Political punk is often abrasive and unpleasant. No catchy tunes. No melodies. But sometimes passionate and angry words sound incompatible with emotionless and bland music. The Iron Roses, fronted by Nat Gray (Boysetsfire), create music that lifts the heart, paired with powerful lyrics that express anger and bitterness about the current world.

Band without pretension

Band ohne Anspruch consists of Danny T (drums), Mosche (bass) and Olli (guitar and vocals). They describe themselves as a relatively bad punk band, with quite passable songs, but also the best band you can get for small change. The Hanoverian trio have been around since 2018 and have released four albums on their own label so far. Unfortunately, they have forgotten to count their concerts, but it must have been around 20,000; including Punk im Pott, Ruhrpott Rodeo, Gott sei Punk and Apen Air.

Uli Sailor Punkrock Piano

Uli Sailor has spent more than 25 years playing in various bands (including Tusq and Terrorgruppe) in front of thousands of fans and honing his skills. This experience has enabled him to find the perfect mix that combines the rebellious energy of punk rock with the subtle melancholy of a piano. He calls the result Punkrock Piano and it is an electrifying storm that reaches hearts and makes souls bop. People everywhere are excited because they expect punk rock and they get it, but they have definitely never experienced it like this before. While Uli Sailor used to cover the skate punk heroes of his youth, he has now completed his own songs. His well-known, steaming piano playing meets his very own personal lyrics from life about getting older, denial and the music scene.
