In a world where children and young people are spending more and more time on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, it is important for parents and grandparents to develop media skills. This workshop provides the knowledge needed to recognize fake news, promote safe use of social media and help children act responsibly online.

For example, you will learn how TikTok works, why certain content goes viral and what impact this can have on children's opinions. You will also gain insights into how TikTok works - from video structure to trends and challenges. It will be shown why it is essential that parents and grandparents also develop a basic understanding of these platforms.

Daniela Beck works as a specialist at the Center for Dissociation from Extremism. She has a bachelor's degree in social work and has trained in systemic counseling.
