A sonic compilation, inspired by anthems chanted and sung by people

European medieval folk songs, songs from West Africa in the 1960s, national anthems and, above all, pop hits such as Queen's "We are the champions" - anthems create community, solidarity and identity. They create imaginary or real communities, even if they are only short-lived. Anthems were created for and by families, nations, bands and underground groups and cultures; they are capsules of time and memory. Visual artist and musician Larry Bonchaka has dug through the archives and brought them together in a musical, scenic compilation. Together with the audience, his multimedia concert performance celebrates a temporary community, a brief moment of utopia and solidarity in difficult times.
