Many composers were inspired by their pets and wrote their very own cat music. Rossini composed a meow duet, Prokofiev placed a cat next to Peter and the Wolf and Jacques Offenbach dedicated an entire operetta to cats. However, the last family concert of the season is dedicated to a special specimen of the genre, a legendary, exemplary self-made cat. When the inheritance is distributed, the miller's youngest son is cheated. He only receives one cat, but it has a lot going for it. She confidently takes her fate into her own hands, doesn't shy away from kings and evil sorcerers and shows that a bright mind and solidarity are worth more than rank, power or physical strength.
