Classics by Ludwig van Beethoven

He is one of the most famous composers in the world and wrote world hits such as "Ode to Joy", "For Elise" and the "Symphony of Fate". It's hard to imagine how Ludwig van Beethoven was able to write such wonderful music despite his deafness. And no wonder he was often in a bad mood and was often described as a thick skull. He heard the sounds and melodies in his head: the rustling of the forest, the chirping of the birds, the sparkling piano sound, the thundering throb of "fate". In the "Masterpieces", the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Sebastian Ludwig, presents excerpts from Beethoven's most famous classics. Kai Bettermann tells his story and wonders who the "immortal beloved" was and why he wanted to make all people brothers and sisters with his music.
