Fassaden: Musik-Theater-Walk

In the organizer's words:

What can the architecture of a building tell us about the people who move around in it? What experiences are inscribed in us in such a way that we gradually become the façade of our own identity? And how do we design spaces where people can meet in all their diversity?
For "Facades", the audience embarks on an expedition to a wide variety of places within the Staatstheater. Along the way, a guided tour through the labyrinthine bowels of the theater will mix with surprise sounds, secret rituals with the hard sound of an underground space and a virtuoso concert with the private couch. Visitors are invited to experience art in interplay with special spaces and regularly change their perspective. With "Fassaden", Elli Neubert creates interdisciplinary spaces for experimentation and encounters and completes her directing studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Hamburg. Dariya Maminova, composer in residence at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden in the 2024/25 season, has written a song cycle for "Fassaden", among other things, and provides each of the five stations with an individual soundscape between chamber music and electronics.

Mobility advice: The walk covers distances indoors and outdoors. They require climbing stairs several times. We recommend sturdy or comfortable shoes and weatherproof clothing. Access to some stations is unfortunately not barrier-free.
