Fassenachtsumzug

In the organizer's words:

This year, the procession will not start at the Ringallee at 1.30 p.m. and run along Wolfstraße, Grünberger Str. and Ludwigsplatz. Instead, the carnival procession will mainly wind its way along the Anlagenring. From Ringallee, the route goes directly via Wiesenstraße to the Ostanlage. From there, the parade continues along Südanlage, then to Selterstor, across Reichensand to Bahnhofstraße and on towards Marktstraße to Marktplatz. The parade ends there at the beginning of the church square (at the Schlammbeisser statue).

Instead of the previous 4.6-kilometer route, this year's procession will cover 3.2 kilometers. There will be plenty of safe space for all spectators, young and old, along the route. Around 75 participants, who have already registered with the Giessen Carnival Association (GFV), will ensure unadulterated carnival fun with doughnuts and atmospheric music.
