taste - smell - see
Venue: Kultur im Trafo, Nymphenburger Straße 171a
The first part of our workshop series is all about honey. The bees have spent several months collecting pollen and nectar, and things have been busy in and around the hive. With the summer solstice, the days are now getting shorter, the bees are preparing for winter and filling the combs with honey as a supply.
Honey is a unique reflection of our city that can be understood not only with the eyes but also with the tongue. The climate, weather, season or geography of a place are reflected in the honey - depending on what the bees collect in their surroundings. Every honey is unique and tastes, smells and looks different.
At the beginning of the workshop, we take a look inside the beehive and see how the honeycombs fill up as the bees work. We then taste the honey that the bees produce and become aware of the smells and tastes of the honey and the environment.
The workshop is led by beekeeper Dr. Jürgen Brandl.
The second part of the bee workshops will take place on November 29, 2025 and will focus on the material wax.
