Fat Talk

In the artist talk "Fat Talk", Jordan Tanner, Linus Wirth and Canan Venzky from Strassentauben Kollektiv will meet the performer, director, mediator and fat activist Katharina Bill after the showing of their performance project "Fat Fucks".

Katharina Bill will present her long-term project "Fatsuit", in which she researches the performativity of body fat, normative conventions of representation and their effects. The project consists of historical research on the genesis of the fatsuit, conversations with costume designers about its production, as well as a reflection on the contextualization of the fatsuit in the local theater and film landscape. It is part of a longer-term project that deals with bodies, their imitation and the phenomenon of dressing fat in a fat-hostile environment. Katharina is also the host of the podcast "FETT - about the visibility of fat bodies on stage and screen".
