Antje and her nameless assistant are working in a butcher's shop preparing sausages. It's manageable here, the money is good, the people are nice. But it wasn't planned. Antje actually liked her previous job as a ticket inspector before she was thrown out. She was too attracted to the Big Moon Joker, a slot machine that couldn't get enough of her coins. Antje's colleague hasn't been here long. She actually wanted to become an actress before the baby moved into her belly. The moon has always been watching all of this. Even now, when they are making funny sandwiches with sausage. For whom, they don't really know - and when they are given notice, the only thing left to do is reach for the stars.

Anaïs Clerc writes melancholically and with droll humor about two very different women who have a lot in common. Disillusioned by life, they wade through the darkness, lose their way and fall prey to the promises of one party. But then there is the way out, up to heaven.
