FÄZZ am Freitag feat. Sebastian Studnitzky

In short, Sebastian Studnitzky embodies a giant of understatement with a creative drive that is as unyielding and optimistic as it is humble and warm-hearted. His music is fundamentally characterized by an unflinching willingness to balance along the edge, to explore the in-between and the twilight. Studnitzky's unboundedness is not only evident in his music, which does not care about genres and rules, but also in the wealth of musical projects in which he participates. Solo, in bands, orchestras - everything is represented. Trumpet, piano or drum machine - why not all at once?

As a lecturer and teacher, supporting others has always been an integral part of his work. This inherent responsibility and dedication to his craft is also reflected in his biggest project to date: he is a founding member, curator and managing director of Berlin's XJAZZ! Festival, which, like himself, is about breaking existing conventions in favor of artistic freedom.

He has also won the ECHO Jazz and Opus Klassik awards and has performed on stage with musicians such as Wolfgang Haffner, Nils Landgren, Dominic Miller and the band Mezzoforte, with whom he can also be heard on several albums.

At the eighth edition of FÄZZ on Friday, the multi-instrumentalist meets the Frankfurt Jazz Collective. They will perform pieces by Studnitzky as well as their own pieces in a new guise. After a repeatedly sold-out concert in June, FÄZZ is looking forward to its next special guest.
