From June 29 to July 12, feeLit - International Literature Festival Heidelberg will be hosting its authors at halle02 for the first time. This new festival venue will be all about books and writing. This year, feeLit presents national and international literary stars and brings authors together with their audience.

Elena Fischer - Paradise Garden

14-year-old Billie lives with her mother Marika in a high-rise housing estate. Money is tight, but Marika uses her imagination to make her gray everyday life colorful. When her grandmother from Hungary suddenly moves in, everything changes - and Billie loses far more than her familiar world. When she can no longer ask Marika any questions, she sets off alone in her old Nissan in search of her unknown father - and the reason for her dreams of the sea, which she has never seen.

Elena Fischer, born in 1987, lives with her family in Mainz. Paradise Garden is her debut and was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize in 2023.
