feeLit 2025: Xiaolu Guo

From June 29 to July 12, feeLit - International Literature Festival Heidelberg will be hosting its authors at halle02 for the first time. This new festival venue will be all about books and writing. This year, feeLit presents national and international literary stars and brings authors together with their audience.

Xiaolu Guo - My Battle of Hastings and Call me Ishmaelle

Xiaolu Guo is an award-winning Chinese-British writer and filmmaker. Her works move between languages, cultures and identities. She has lived in London since the 2000s and is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary transcultural literature.

My Battle of Hastings concludes her autobiographical trilogy - an intimate reflection on migration, language and belonging. In Call me Ishmaelle, Guo creates a female re-reading of Moby Dick - radical, clever and powerful. Two books that impressively combine past and present.
