feeLit 2025 Eröffnung: Cornelia Funke

From June 29 to July 12, feeLit - International Literature Festival Heidelberg will be hosting its authors at halle02 for the first time. This new festival venue will be all about books and writing for seven days. This year, feeLit presents national and international literary stars and brings authors together with their audience.

Cornelia Funke - fantasy worlds

Last year, Cornelia Funke was a guest at feeLit with an online reading and promised to come to Heidelberg in person this year - and now she is here to open the festival with a special start.

The internationally acclaimed author is traveling from Fraggina in Tuscany, a small medieval town where she lives and runs an artists' residence. There she brings together creative people from all over the world to work together on stories and illustrations.

Cornelia Funke is one of the best-known German authors - her books inspire millions of readers worldwide. Her fantasy stories such as the Tintenwelt trilogy (Tintenherz, Tintenblut, Tintentod) make literature itself the subject and show how lively stories can become. Many of her works have been successfully adapted into films.

Whether adventure stories such as The Lord of Thieves or picture books such as The Wild Horde - Funke writes for children, young people and adults. She often contributes to the visual design of her books and works closely with illustrators, whom she invites to Fraggina.

Cornelia Funke is often compared to J.K. Rowling - but her style, her themes and her voice are unique. Her appearance at feeLit promises a magical afternoon full of storytelling, exciting insights and the opportunity to experience one of the greatest storytellers of our time live.
