Feierabendführung: ÜBERSEeHEN – Spuren des Kolonialismus an Rhein und Ruhr

Where were there colonial stores in Duisburg? Were there also people from Duisburg who traveled to the colonial territories as soldiers, missionaries or sealers? What traces has this dark chapter of history left behind in Duisburg? On Tuesday, April 1 at 5 p.m., the Center for Remembrance Culture is offering a guided tour of the colonial traces in Duisburg.

The after-work tour will be led by Christa Frins, curator of the exhibition "ÜBERSEeHEN. In search of (post)colonial traces in Duisburg". She will take you through two centuries up to the present day and shed light on the colonial traces, such as exploitation in trade or women's fashion around 1900, which still have an impact on our lives today.
