You can expect an entertaining evening with Cologne author Mara Mandera. With an unmistakable voice and charming humor, she tells of situations in her new book that are so absurd that only women can tell about them. If you love stories with a surprising ending and are curious to take a look behind the scenes, this event is just right for you. After the reading, there will be an opportunity to have the book signed.

A common thread running through the twelve short stories is the question of what our society considers "normal". In her book, Mara Mandera addresses gender injustice, naming rights, climate change and poses clever questions about a party platform that wants to send women back to the stove. The stories are thought-provoking, some make you laugh, others make you angry - angry at this unjust world.

With this book, the author puts her humorous finger in the wound and highlights the weak points of our society in an entertaining way.

Mara Mandera, born in 1981 in the Ruhr area, studied economics in Bochum and Oviedo, Spain. She lived in Spain with her Peruvian husband for seven years before moving back to Germany and her adopted home of Cologne.
