On Thursday, June 26, 2025, a special evening awaits you at the Nationaltheater to kick off the Munich Opera Festival: with a speech by Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, we celebrate 150 years of festive summer in Munich. Musically, the program spans an arc from Henry Purcell to Jean-Philippe Rameau and Georg Friedrich Händel. You can look forward to arias from Giulio Cesare, Rinaldo, Les Indes galantes and Dido and Aeneas with Avery Amereau, Sonya Yoncheva and the Bavarian State Orchestra under the musical direction of Stefano Montanari.
