About the ensemble:
The O/Modernt Chamber Orchestra, conducted by violinist Hugo Ticciati, is an international string orchestra that combines early music with contemporary music.

"Mirror Memory" - Golfam Khayam

The composer Golfam Khayam has written a commissioned composition for the O/Modernt Chamber Orchestra, the violinist Hugo Ticciati as soloist and for the singer Haleh Seyfizadeh.

"Mirror Memory" is based on the tradition of oral tradition, which is deeply rooted in Persian literature and music, and combines this with characteristics of contemporary music and elements of improvisation.

The Patience of Trees - Dobrinka Tabakova

Tabakova's composition "The Patience of Trees" for string orchestra, solo violin and percussion is a German premiere. The work describes the path of a tree from the first germination of the seed until its branches stretch into the sky, thus adding the dimension of the cyclical passing of time in nature to the title "The Resonance of Time" as an alternative concept to the linear understanding of (cultural) history.

At the same time, "The Patience of Trees" addresses the question of how the sounds of nature merge with the sounds and noises of human expression in our memories. For example, the rustling of leaves or the crunching of snow are juxtaposed with a lullaby that was sung to us and today forms parts of our identity, which is always a mixture of the equally virtual dimensions of memory and future design.

About the festival:

What does "cultural heritage" mean? What do we remember? What makes us distinctive? The festival Out Of The Box from January 11 to February 2, 2025 is entitled "The Resonance of Time". For three weeks, the festival will be a place of debate and exchange at 13 venues in Bavaria in over 40 events to approach these questions artistically. "The Resonance Of Time" is a journey towards identity, memory and diversity. Six concert programs, including four world premieres and one German premiere, will be complemented by a diverse additional program.
