Festkonzert 50 Jahre Junge Deutsche Philharmonie

Gustav Mahler's 7th Symphony is full of contrasts. Light and darkness, joy and deep sorrow lie very close together and create a flood of fairytale-like images and scenes. The Junge Deutsche Philharmonie is celebrating its 50th anniversary with this great, enigmatic work. In the celebratory concert with Mahler specialist Jonathan Nott, the symphony will be preceded by the work Studio di Ombre by Italian composer Lucia Ronchetti, a virtuoso, unsettling carnival of sound based on Mahler's Scherzo.
