He himself was a member of the professional fire department in Kent, Wales. The series became a hit in no time at all. Since then, it has been thrilling generations in ever new editions. Theater auf Tour adapted the format into German in cooperation with Dutch company Van Hoorne Entertainment. The ensemble brought the stage show to Germany, Austria and Switzerland as a world premiere.
