Film & Schauspiel: "Das Testament des Dr. Cordelier"

Cinema Quadrat and Nationaltheater Mannheim are showing Jean Renoir's French horror film to accompany the NTM production of "The Curious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde":

Dr. Cordelier, a respected doctor and scientist in Paris, is researching a serum that is supposed to unleash the true nature of man. He himself is the test subject. The experiment is successful, but in an unpleasant way: Ingesting it transforms Dr. Cordelier into the monster Opale, who commits terrible crimes at night...
This French adaptation of the novella "The Curious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" relocates the story of the split personality to contemporary Paris and is considered the best film version of the Robert Louis Stevenson novella alongside the US version from 1931 (which we will be showing in April). Jean Renoir is considered one of the most important filmmakers of all time.

In cooperation with the Nationaltheater Mannheim, accompanying the play "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" in the version by Johanna Wehner.

Holders of tickets for "The Curious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" receive reduced admission to the cinema. Holders of a cinema ticket receive a 25% discount on the drama screenings on 16.03. and 09.04.2025.
