FFA x Women's Network: ProChoices

The Women's Network Aachen and Filmfest Aachenare jointly inviting you to an evening dedicated to the freedom of women to decide on their own bodies and life paths. We would like to go in search of our own identity - Who do I want to be? Who can I be? - and shed light on the challenges, doubts and setbacks that accompany us on this journey.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with selected short films on the theme of ProChoices, which illuminate and question the plurality of female decisions. Look forward to the films Am Ende sind wir alle Gesang (R. Katharina Schnekenbühl), Celeste Rosa (R. Sarita Barahona), Getty Abortions (R. Franzis Kabisch) and After the Afterparty (R. Jess Mountfield).

After a short break, we will present the documentaryat 20:00 The Wish (90 min / 2024) by Berlin director Judith Beuth. It follows two women with an unfulfilled desire to have children over many years and shows how close love, great suffering and endless helplessness can be linked.

The evening will end with an open discussion about the film and the topic of infertility with expert Dr. Dagmar Schmitz (doctor and consultant at ProFamilia).
