FILMFEST HAMBURG zeigt September Says

Come to FILMFEST HAMBURG and immerse yourself in the toxic games of two sisters

French actress Ariane Labed's directorial debut is a bizarre, surreal journey. The two teenage sisters September and July are very close, but also very different. While September is suspicious and controlling towards her sister, July is open and curious. Sheela, their single mother, is often overwhelmed by the unpredictable dynamic between the duo. When the three retreat to a vacation home in Ireland after a mysterious incident at school, the tension between the sisters threatens to escalate into uncontrollable forms.

ARIANE LABED (*1984 in Greece) grew up in Greece and Germany as the daughter of French parents and celebrated her breakthrough in 2010 with her role in Attenberg. Since then, she has appeared in several films by Giorgos Lanthimos, among others. Her directorial debut September Says premiered in Cannes in the Un Certain Regard section.

FILMFEST HAMBURG takes place from September 26 to October 5, 2024. Over 120 productions from all over the world will be shown as world, European, German or Hamburg premieres.
