Filmpremiere: transformation

In the organizer's words:

The WATTwanderungen project in Hamburg invites you to the premiere of the film transformation.
The evening marks the start of a series of events for the artistic exploration of the Moorburg energy site in Hamburg.

Transformation is change with a goal.
Change happens, transformation shapes.
Transformation means developing an attitude to change.
Transformation improvises, transformation uses error, transformation learns.

A mysterious group of five protagonists enter a surreal-looking place and embark on a seemingly ritualistic exploration. As the action unfolds before the viewer's eyes, the filmic narrative simultaneously raises questions: What kind of place is this? A distant planet? A dark vision of the future of our Earth? Who are the protagonists? Scientists? Shamans? Mythical beings? As the plot unfolds, it becomes increasingly clear that there are no easy answers...

The film project transformation, in which the five-member SPIIC+ ensemble takes center stage, is an explorative approach to the topic of transformation using the means of artistic research. It also deals with the pressing issues of our time, such as collective creativity, social competence and responsibility, cultural and ecological resources, sustainability and the vision of a "better future" on planet Earth.

The former power station in Moorburg is a place undergoing transformation. Hard coal was once used to generate electricity here, while concerts with solar energy were held in protest in the village behind the dyke. Now a production facility for green hydrogen is being built on the same site. The energy transition is taking place.

The film was created in a cooperation between SPIIC+ Ensemble, ligeti zentrum, TU Hamburg, Hochschule für Musik und Theater (HfMT) and Multi Media Kontor Hamburg (MMKH). WATTwanderungen in Hamburg is a project of the Hamburg Open Online University (HOOU) at the TU Hamburg and was funded until the end of 2024 by the ESD Hamburg Masterplan 2030 of the Ministry of Environment, Climate, Energy and Agriculture (BUKEA).
