FiNDiNG CLEO | SUPPORT: DEBBY SMITH

With a moving voice and rousing songs, the band FiNDiNG CLEO is taking their audience by storm. The Hamburg band plays indie pop with neo-soul influences - a musical mix as colorful as a cultural studies Erasmus semester. With yearning melodies, warm synth sounds, elegant riffs and effortless drumming, the band tells stories of searching and finding: of love, of the self and of one's place in the world.

Cleo, singer and founder of the band, has been on stage since childhood and touches people with her passionate way of singing. During the pandemic, she starts writing songs and goes in search of a band at the Hamburg Popkurs in 2022. There she finds guitarist Lukas Staratzky and drummer Jonas Winkler. She already knew bassist Tom Richter and pianist Martín Zamorano from her music studies. The five combine their musical preferences, hone their songs and play their first local club gigs and festivals (including Birdland, Altonale). In 2023, they open the concert of singer-songwriter Ian Fisher at Hamburg's Knust.

The first step into the world of streaming services is also taken: in May 2024, the band releases their first single "Alike" - a song that encourages people to take the step away from conforming to others and towards themselves. The band's second single continues the story of self-discovery: "Just Right" is an anthem of self-affirmation for all those who are different and take the detour, the extra task and the extra mile.
