A concert from the Young Talents series

Finn Seemann is a young percussionist who grew up in Berlin. Since 2021 he has been studying at the renowned Jazz Institute Berlin with Heinrich Köbberling and has since been active in various formations of the young Berlin jazz scene. As a composer, he always tries to approach the most diverse forms of music and has already written for larger ensembles, including big bands, but also chamber ensembles such as string quartets. Anchored in the tradition of modern jazz and inspired by jazz greats such as Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter and Duke Ellington, the compositions Finn has written for his quintet range from playful melodies to intricate rhythms and lively harmonies, with plenty of room for improvisation. This is completed by the outstanding musicians Theo Altmann, Darius Blair, Lajos Meinberg and Johann Greve, all of whom met during their studies.
