Fish 'n Blues mit THE UKELITES

In the organizer's words:

What began as a small duo for living room concerts - with Miriam Hein as the singer on the ukulele and Steffen Günter, who was able to provide amazingly sonorous bass accompaniment with his small ukulele bass - has now expanded into a quintet. Since Wompl Wall has now taken over the bass, the listener no longer has to do without it when Steffen Günter picks up a second ukulele, a Hawaiian steel guitar or an alto or baritone saxophone, while Luckie Bergner imaginatively whirls the jazz brushes over his drums. With Christoph Klauss on tenor saxophone, the last missing piece of the puzzle was added to the band's sound in 2023. The loving arrangements of almost forgotten songs - mostly from the middle of the 20th century - could thus be further refined. These often come from the great repertoire of the jazz and swing era or Afro-American rhythm'n'blues, for which Miriam Hein's deep and soulful voice seems to have been made for. But surprises from rockabilly to pop to Hawaiian exotica can also be added to the broad genre mix.

New additions include original pieces that the Ukelites presented on their monothematic Hawaiian Swing first studio album "Jungle Swing" in 2022. The result can be heard both in the jazz club and on the dance floor. So it never gets boring with the Ukelites, an unusual band with interesting instrumentation.
