The international line-up continues with the duo Birkett Hall from Canada. Ted Hall plugs in his guitar, Ea Birkett practises Bavarian - "Oachkatzlschwoaf" - and has a blues harp with her. And her rock voice. That voice! After just a few notes, it becomes clear that there are now two professionals on stage, doing their thing with heart and soul, somewhere between rock, blues, folk and jazz. It is an unusual musical story of a duo.
That of the power duo Birkett Hall. The couple left Canada in 2009 and lived in Asia for 7 years. There they toured and had wonderful times. In 2016 they came to Germany and their music is powerful, lyrical, vocally strong, played with a lot of energy and comes from the roots of blues, folk, jazz, rock and world beat. An acoustic sound that is very personal, these are two people with a story to tell. You could call it "acoustic-folk-rock-bluespunk-jazz-indie-singer-songwriter" and the end result is a sound that is unique and undeniably their own. Birkett Hall is now making Germany a new home base and is excited about the opportunities that are opening up for them.Two people, strong lyrics, fat grooves and the sonic depth of a whole band. They take their energy from the audience and give it back with power and passion. They create enthusiasm from Stockholm to Brussels, from Thailand to Munich. They bring their unique authentic sound to festivals, concerts and clubs across the Eurozone, the UK and Scandinavia. Birkett Hall offers a truly unforgettable performance.

When she's behind the microphone, she might be singing or playing guitar or harmonica or percussion or a whistle from Arte in Northern Thailand. Any combination is possible.
Usually she just sings. She sees the movie of the song in her head and this translates into a power and intensity of emotion carried by her voice. An unforgettable voice.
With her body language, which is a cross between unconscious sign language and a kind of martial art, she inspires her audience.

Ted Hall
ed has always been a musician and began his professional career at the age of 16. His live performance is unmistakably powerful, dynamic, sometimes wild, sometimes gentle and his contributions in the studio shine with originality and authenticity. He plays many instruments (guitar, slide guitar, bass, piano, harmonica, saxophones, drums, percussion and synthesizer).
His musical philosophy and influences are very present in Birkett Hall, bringing a passionate, thoughtful and powerful performance.
