Flags represent the identities of communities.
Flags have (oversized) formats.
Flags are a statement in demonstrations.
Flags are protest.
Flags in the "Flags with a Message" exhibition use the power of typography to draw attention to feminism in graphic design, because women are still severely underrepresented in typography (design with type) and type design in particular. As part of the "SEEN-Around the World-Symposium", the exhibition shows a total of 20 committed typographic statements by students of the Communication Design course at Mainz University of Applied Sciences with urgent feminist demands and messages.
