Over 20 million records sold, countless enthusiastic moviegoers and an Oscar for best song: Flashdance is cult! After its release in 1983, the film became an absolute blockbuster thanks to megahits such as "Flashdance - What a Feeling" and "Maniac". The musical, which premiered in 2008, revives the synth-pop of the 80s as a spectacular stage show.

During the day, Alex Owens works as a welder in a steelworks, and at night she wows audiences as a dancer in a bar. Her biggest dream is to pursue a career in classical dance, but as a self-taught dancer she doesn't know if she has what it takes. Through the contacts of her boss Nick Hurley, she manages to audition for the conservatory - the biggest opportunity of her life.

In the big 80s dance party, the famous movie hits are joined by other classics such as "Gloria", "Manhunt" and "I Love Rock 'n' Roll". The young director Florian Mahlberg brings the rousing musical to the stage of Theater Hagen. With choreography by Nicole Eckenigk and set design by Norbert Bellen (stage) and Lisa-Jasmin Tomm (costumes), Flashdance is a hit that will not only delight nostalgics.
