District tour

It starts at Fichtenstraße in Flingern Süd and provides information about the iron and wire industry, the "bridge builders of Düsseldorf" and the boiler works in the adjacent Gleisdreieck. The tour continues through the old workers' housing estates of Kiefernstraße and Ruhrtalstraße, along the route of the first Düsseldorf railroad to the cooling towers of the "Städtische Gasanstalt". We visit an almost unknown military-historical "concrete cigar", find the gasometer in the Automeile and end the tour in a former soap factory.

The tour is led by Kaspar Michels (Initiative FlingerPfad).
