Two women finally realize their long-cherished dream. A literary firework display unfolds - passionate, funny and sometimes bizarre.

It's the off-season in an all-inclusive beach hotel somewhere on the Mediterranean. Claudia and Katharina meet for the first time on the beach. Both are 60-plus and want to finally write their big novel.

While Claudia's crime heroine "Clara Leuras", analytical and intuitive, breaks new ground in her investigative work, Katharina's old "Büxlmacherin", sometimes demented, sometimes mischievous, leads a Giesingen speculator around by the nose.

A funky exchange of blows ensues: Scraps of novels, verses and snippets of text fly back and forth between the deckchairs, interrupted only by annoying WhatsApps from ex-lovers and bonus children. And when things get too heated, the two take an interactive bath in the audience. In between, a fabric sail transports everyone into a dream world.

The two women, played by the authors Claudia Westhagen and Katharina Schweissguth, separate their texts from their narrative strands and put them together to create a collage that spans an exciting arc from light-hearted to serious experiences and feelings.

All word-lovers will have fun. But beware: the writing fever may even be contagious. "Flip Flops" encourages everyone to live their life's dream - now.

Writing has been an elixir of life for Claudia Westhagen from an early age. After studying acting, she went on to work in radio, theater, directing and publishing. The author and publisher lives and writes in Munich and in her camper van. She travels to places that inspire her. In her indie publishing house "myshow Verlag", she lets people who have a lot to say have their say. She is a member of "Poesieboten e.V." and on the board of "Mörderische Schwestern e.V.".

Katharina Schweissguth is a freelance Munich graphic designer and interdisciplinary artist. She has been running Germany's first poetry mailbox in Giesing since 2013. She has written about her experiences from the project in the tragicomic novel "Der Liebesbriefkasten". She is co-founder of the "Poesieboten e.V."
