Flix is a comic artist and illustrator and his debut novel is a crazy ride through the imagination, spectacular, funny and visually stunning - as if Flix had drawn it. It tells the story of the adventures of 12 5/6-year-old Mika, who has to outgrow himself during what seems to be the dullest summer vacation ever. The fact that he races through the dark night in a car to save his grandma is a minor detail. And taking an airship to a foreign city? That's a gift! But why does everything he wishes for suddenly come true there? Why do monkeys do the things he doesn't want to do? And why does he even make friends easily in the club of great minds? Something is not right, and it slowly dawns on Mika: this is no ordinary journey, but a matter of life and death! A fast-paced story full of unexpected twists and turns that shows what a great, wild adventure it is to grow up.

Flix lives and works as a freelance illustrator and comic artist in Berlin. In addition to numerous books, he currently publishes his newspaper comic "Glückskind" every week in the F.A.Z. With "Spirou in Berlin" and "Das Humboldt-Tier", Flix was the first German-language artist to create adventures for the French-Belgian series. Flix's work has been translated into nine languages and has received numerous awards. In February 2025, he curated the exhibition "UDERZO - From Asterix to Magic Potion" at the Museum of Communication Berlin.
