Floating Seeds (UA)

Try to sprout - try to take root in different places.

Move as if there were walls everywhere, leaving only very narrow passages.

Lose your clothes. Your body is numb.

The German-Ukrainian project FLOATING SEEDS (UA) combines the history of war-torn landscapes with the stories of people who had to leave their homeland to start anew elsewhere.

In the Ukrainian city of Poltava, which - like the whole of Ukraine - suffers from constant Russian shelling, the artists have collected voices, images and sounds - of destroyed houses and bullet craters, of internally displaced persons and veterans, of people trying to somehow shape their involuntary new lives

Cologne was also once destroyed by war. The green belt is criss-crossed by the so-called "rubble mountains" - rubble and the remains of destroyed houses were piled up and planted with greenery where people now meet in fine weather to enjoy life.

In FLOATING SEEDS, a multimedia outdoor performance is created from the collected research material, which in turn is streamed live to Poltava. Times and places interweave to form the fluid material of which life stories are made.

The performance is the prelude to a continuous bridge-building from Cologne to Poltava in Ukraine, in which, among other things, a hybrid archive (analog and digitally accessible) of FLOATING SEEDS voices will be created and continuously expanded.

Німецько-укий проект FLOATING SEEDS (НАСІНННЯ/ЩО/БЛУКАЄ) досліджує зміни, спричинені війною, поєднуючи історію зруйнованих ландшафтів з історіями людей, які були змушені покинути свою землю і почати все спочатку в іншому місціі.

В українському місті Полтава, яке, як і вся Україна, страждає від постійних російських обстрілів, митці зібрали голоси, образи і звуки, що використовуються для створення мультимедійного перформансу в Кельні. Захід відбудеться просто неба неподалік "Trümmerberge" - пагорбів, створених на руїнах війни. Адже Кельн теж колись був зруйнований. "Гори щебеню" - уламки і залишки розбомблених будинків - були сладені і засаджені зеленнню. Тепер люди зустрічаються тут в гарну погоду, щоб насолоджуватися життям.

Перформанс стане відправною точкою для довготривалої творчої співпраці між митцями з Кельна та Полтави. Його мета - об'єднати досвід і голоси мешканців обох міст, особливо тих, хто зазнав вимушеного переселення внаслідок війни.
