Free, outdoors and under palm trees: this summer, the DURCHLÜFTEN music festival will once again transform the Humboldt Forum's large Schlüterhof courtyard into a lively meeting place for sound, rhythm and culture.

Over four weekends, music from all over the world will radiate from the stage: from the raw energy of Mexican cumbia punk to the hypnotic groove of Kenyan dodo blues, from the electrifying syncopation of Congolese soukous to the powerful messages of Afrofuturist big bands. Japanese folk with a Caribbean influence, soulful jazz, hip-hop and the joy and resilience of the Frafra gospel round off this celebration of sound - boundless, multi-perspective and irresistibly danceable!

Florence Adooni (Ghana)

Ghanaian frafra sensation Florence Adooni is back at DURCHLÜFTEN and presents a vibrant fusion of Kumasi highlife, spiritual jazz and rousing rhythms on her long-awaited international debut album A.O.E.I.U. (An Ordinary Exercise In Unity). Produced by Adooni's longtime collaborator Max Weissenfeldt (Philophon Records) and backed by an eight-piece ensemble of leading Kumasi highlife musicians, the album exudes joy, energy and masterful musical craftsmanship.

Across seven tracks, A.O.E.I.U. combines artful guitar melodies, syncopated grooves, horn fanfares and rich vocal harmonies. From the shimmering highlife of "Mam Pe'ela Su'ure" and the danceable "Vocalize My Luv" to the spiritual jazz excursions of the title track and the Ethiopian-inspired "Otoma Da Naba", the album is a dynamic journey through Florence Adooni's signature sound: powerful, exhilarating and deeply rooted in tradition.
