The black cat has barely rubbed the sleep out of her eyes when she is shocked to discover that a huge flood is burying the old world beneath it. She barely manages to save herself on a sailing boat, on which a monkey, a Labrador, a capybara and a secretary bird gradually find refuge. It soon becomes clear that the animals' diversity is their strength and together they face the challenges of the new world.

FLOW is not a typical animated film with animals. In its relatively reduced style, it moves the audience immensely when it tells of hostility and cohesion, of catastrophes and solidarity. This special emotional impact was certainly a decisive factor in the Latvian production being awarded Best Animated Film at the Oscars against notable competition from Disney and the like.
