On one afternoon, dance transforms the public space in front of the Staatstheater.
FolkDanceParty 2.0" offers a special kind of dance experience. The work follows the concept of the Hessian State Ballet's large-scale participatory projects, in which dance enthusiasts from the region work with renowned choreographers over a period of months to develop a piece that will be premiered on the main stage of the state theaters in Darmstadt and Wiesbaden at the end of the season.
This time, things are a little different: it's out into the fresh air and the spectators are also the participants. Together with the Frankfurt choreographer and dance professor Hannah Shakti Bühler and the Austrian dancer and choreographer Simon Mayer, a large outdoor dance event is planned in which everyone is invited to dance along.
