The quintet from the Rhine-Main region takes the audience on a musical journey back to the 1980s, when Marillion established themselves as one of the most influential bands in neo-progressive rock. The success of the early years is closely linked to the then frontman Derek William Dick - better known as "Fish". Even today, there are still many die-hard fans who have fond memories of this time and the four albums released between 1981 and 1988.

The FORGOTTEN SONS have already been described by fans as an alternative to a time machine, as they transport listeners back to the 80s with their fidelity to the originals and enthusiasm for playing. "It's hard to imagine a better Marillion cover band," wrote the Bergsträßer Anzeiger following the debut performance at the established Musiktheater Rex.

A Bonn promoter praised the FORGOTTEN SONS after their first joint concert and ranked the band in his personal top 3 tribute bands.

In addition to the Misplaced Childhood album, which is the focus of the concerts and is presented in full length, the set list also includes the classics from the other albums, which are often no longer to be found at today's performances by the originals. "So the evening becomes a pleasant reminder of earlier Marillion concerts, an evening that somehow also feels like a musical theater performance. Because it all sounds like Marillion, like a recording of a previously unknown live record" (Rheinische Post, April 4, 2017).

Thanks to their authentic performance of the Fish era, the band has earned a very good reputation among Marillion fans in recent years.
