For more than 30 years, Dieter Schonlau has been traveling the world's most remote rainforests with his camera. Nature photography in the tropical jungle is one of the most beautiful, but also one of the most difficult genres for photographers. Problematic lighting conditions and extreme weather conditions demand everything from photographers and their equipment. Despite years of experience, it is extremely difficult to find the hidden inhabitants of the forest.
Only when you take a closer look do leaves get feet and crawl past you, but this is precisely the appeal of photography: being out in nature, discovering animals and plants, photographing them in their natural habitat and thus documenting the mysterious, breathtaking beauty of the rainforests. This also includes the fascinating field of macro photography. The big world of small things - a playground for photographers: Colors, structures and finesse come to the fore and allow the viewer to immerse themselves in the wonderful world of nature.
You often only have a few seconds to photograph one of the rare inhabitants of the rainforest. Only experience in the correct use of photographic equipment can help. You intuitively decide on the right choice of aperture and shutter speed or the precise use of flash or reflector. Based on Dieter's many years of experience, illustrated by numerous sample photos, he teaches participants the many possibilities of nature and macro photography.
