With the exhibition "Elegia Fantastica", the renowned photographer Emanuele Scorcelletti takes the viewer on a fascinating journey in which his reflections on relationships with certain places take center stage. Scorcelletti is a master at seducing and enchanting with his black and white compositions.
Scorcelletti became known above all for his magnificent photographs of the world of celebrities. However, he has proven time and again that he is not just an expert in glitz and glamor with his magnificent, often rather quiet series. He effortlessly combines and unites the most diverse worlds in his oeuvre, always developing surprisingly creative pictorial ideas.
In the "Elegia Fantastica" project, the photographer, who was born in Luxembourg in 1964 and lives in Paris, also refers to his Italian roots. In his intense black and white photographs, he embarks on a visual journey to places of the past and in search of meaningful spaces. Here, the images become abstract, flooded with light, and he prefers to work with blurs. Emanuele Scorcelletti works analog with the Leica M6; he photographs the "Visions" series with his Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246) - free of any retouching or exaggeration. Scorcellettis studied at the Institut national de radioélectricité et cinématographie (INRACI) in Brussels.
Between 1989 and 2009, he worked for the Gamma agency in Paris and still works as a freelance photographer for magazines, advertising and fashion. In addition to portraits and shots in the context of cinema, fashion and luxury brands, he has always worked on social projects. He has translated his interest in the connection between people, the environment and nature into numerous series.
Scorcelletti's work has received numerous awards, including the World Press Award 2003, and has been exhibited many times.
