One has to step away and even leave one’s home in order to be able to ask – where do I really come from? why do I consider that place a home at all?  from Yael Bartana’s interview with Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.

Yael Bartana’s exceptional art has been electrifying art publics around the world since the turn of the millennium. Her sweeping visual statements on alternative pasts and possible futures for our society unsettle wherever one feels at home.

Now, for the first exhibition dedicated entirely to Bartana’s neon poetry, the Israeli artist is creating in Berlin a new sign that illuminates these dark and confusing distances we often experience towards our origins, and it is heartbreaking.
