František Uhlìr Team feat. Andy Schofield

Who doesn't know the great Czech bassists Jiri "George" Mraz and Miroslav Vitous, who have achieved recognition and international renown?

František Uhlìr, born in 1950, belongs to the same generation and is certainly the most prominent jazz musician on the Czech jazz scene at the moment.
As the European East continues to open up, many unknown "stars" who have never had the opportunity to present their skills to a wider audience will probably appear.
F.U.T., the František Uhlìr Team, which has been in existence since 1987, certainly belongs in this category of undiscovered formations. Their music draws from Western sources, but is not a Czech replica of the American mainstream.

It is carefully balanced, developing from the process of listening to each other and sensitive interaction, to become a sound of four voices that can be transformed.

The musicians see their music as a living organism in which one part can take on the function of the whole or vice versa.

Andy Schofield from Manchester (UK), born in 1966, complements the formation with his saxophone playing. Schofield lived in Berlin from 2009 to 2013. He currently lives in the Czech capital Prague.
