Musical cabaret about the pitfalls of getting older
by Michael Tasche with Franziska Ball and Felix Mathy
"Hotel Mama - oder Alles auf Anfang - über die Tücken des Älterwerdens" is a "mini-musical" - peppered with hilarious and brilliantly written scenes and parodies from pop and rock.
Clara Loft finds herself in a balancing act between two trouble spots: The pubescent children are coming of age and are not holding back with surprises of all kinds. The ageing grandparents are becoming increasingly stubborn and demand a complete all-round carefree package with individual entertainment. The midlife crisis, the menopause and the passing of their own zenith keep interfering. And great tips for temporary anti-ageing can't help you get over the pitfalls, horrors and advantages of ageing.
Franziska Ball (Rosenheim Cops, Hubert und Staller, Frühling 17) aka "Supermama Clara Loft" also impresses with a great deal of self-irony and a very multi-faceted, versatile voice in her third "Mütterkabarett", which ultimately culminates in an all-round look at the role of women as mothers, wives, daughters, businesswomen, housewives, cleaners, amateur psychologists, "bespasser" and nannies. Felix Mathy plays the piano virtuosically, confidently and with great feeling. The two complement each other perfectly and offer an unforgettable evening.
